Broadcast Microwave Services, Inc (BMS) began 2012 by announcing the next generation of on-board transmitter Heli-Coder 4 (HC4). The product is designed for fixed and rotary wing aircraft, and small enough that it can also be used in the courts of the land, air or unmanned applications for land vehicles. Among the new technological features in HC4 are:

first Transmits HD (high definition) or SD (standard definition) video;

2. Offers a choice of video compression using H.264 or MPEG-2 for compatibility with existing equipment of the site;

3. Configuring an Ethernet port for streaming IP (Internet Protocol) data;

4. GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver and a data interface to track and display purposes;

5. 10 W output power in a compact housing, only about 5 x 9 W x 6 H (127 x 229 x 153 mm);

6. Geo-Point capable: Geo-Point BMS to get your own website software that uses the metadata from the camera plane to show the receiver, the azimuth and distance from the target video to a compatible receiver BMS

With more and more customers demanding HD transmission, HC4 provides the latest technology with H.264 compression option to include MPEG-2 compression to provide backward compatibility and investment protection for existing products heritage. In addition, HC4s Ethernet port can be configured to transfer data to an IP or IP-multiplexed data, the compressed video. This is important in multi-sensor current conditions.
